This section describes how to use Slim Multimedia Keyboard setting program.

Once the software installation for Slim Multimedia Keyboard is complete, the icon is shown on the WindowsÒ taskbar. The setting program provides 16 graphic Multimedia Buttons on the screen.

On-Screen Slim Multimedia

The On-Screen Slim Multimedia contains 16 buttons, each has a predefined function. 

When floating on the screen, there are two kinds of appearance of On-Screen Slim Multimedia.

When floating on the top bottom or center, On-Screen Slim Multimedia displays as below:

 

When floating on the right or on the left, On-Screen Slim Multimedia displays as below :

As the windows limitations, some functions of On-Screen Slim Multimedia can't be active by left-clicking on the mouse. 

For the functions that you can activate by left-clicking on mouse, the On-Screen Slim Multimedia will show different colors.

  On-Screen Slim Multimedia Menu

Right clicking elsewhere on the On-Screen Slim Multimedia , will bring up the following menu.

  • Always On Top: The On-Screen Slim Multimedia will always remain on the top.

  • Auto Hide: The On-Screen Slim Multimedia will auto hide when the mouse looses focus.

  • Exit: Exits the On-Screen Slim Multimedia only but Slim Multimedia Keyboard still remains active.

How to create a shortcut

The Slim Multimedia Keyboard allows you to define your own hotkey.

There are a number of ways to redefine a hotkey. Either choose from predefined functions or create a shortcut .

  Redefining Hotkey

  1. Active option dialog box by pressing the hot button of the keypad or right-clicking the mouse on Option button of the On-Screen Slim Multimedia to launch this dialog box.

  2. Choose a new function for that hotkey.

  3. Change the Caption name if you need.

  4. Press Apply to confirm a new function for that hotkey.  Press OK to exit this Function Setting dialog and save change.

  5. Press Load Default Setting to re-load default function setting for hotkey.

 

  Preset Functions

Shortcut can be used to launch commonly used applications such as MS-Word, Excel or PowerPoint. Type in the path and name of the executable file in the box provided or use the Browse button to search for it. Press Apply to confirm it and press OK to exit this dialog.

 

 

 

  Display Settings

Startup Settings 

Check this box if you wish to launch the On-Screen Slim Multimedia when Slim Multimedia Keyboard start.

On Screen Status Display Settings

The On-Screen Status Display (OSD) informs you of what function is being performed when a hotkey or On-Screen Slim Multimedia button is pressed. This is only displayed when a hotkey has been pressed. It appears at the left bottom of the screen for 0.5 second default timeout.

  • Status Display Timeout: 

The default display timeout is 0.5 second. However, you can change it from 0.5 second to 5 seconds.

  • Test

The Test button can be used to view the OSD before changes are made.

Pop-Up Menu

 

Right-click the icon on the taskbar of WindowsÒ to activate the Pop-Up menu.

 

  • Options: This option can open the options dialog box to re-define function. 

  • On-Screen Slim Multimedia: This option will bring up the On-Screen Slim Multimedia.

  • Help: This option allows access to the on-line help file, which includes help on multimedia button function descriptions and setting program instructions. 

  • About: This option activates a dialog box displaying information about the Slim Multimedia keyboard driver. 

  • Exit Slim Multimedia: This option allows the user to close the Slim Multimedia Keyboard driver and remove it from the computer's memory.
